Cliché Verre Cyanotype, 12 × 8 inches, edition of ten, signed
Cliché Verre Cyanotype is a type of "semiphotographic" printmaking. For this image I painted with ink onto clear acetate film. The image is then placed in direct contact with paper treated with the iron salt solution known generally as cyanotype and exposed to ultraviolet light (either sunlight or UV light). Multiples of the image can be made, and the technique has the unique advantage in printmaking that the design can be reversed (printed as a mirror image) just by turning the plate over.
